Kebbi Customs Organises Comptroller’s Parades, Three Years After

Nigeria Customs Service, Kebbi State Area Command has organized parade for the first time in three years to invigorate the moral of the officers and men of the Command.
Adressing the parade, the Controller of Customs in the State,ย Dr. Ben Oramalugo said the essence of the parade was to encourage and instil discipline which bond officers and men uniformly and to carry out the Nigeria Customs Service core mandates of revenue generation.Which includes, suppression of smuggling, trade facilitation, provide security and enhance customs civil relationship to the host communities.ย
The Controller also stressed that the officers and men should be their brotherโs keeper and should see each other as brothers in uniform and also help each other with intelligence and reinforcement.
In another development, the Customs Area Controller received the newly posted Commissioner of Police to Kebbi State, Samuel Titus Musa and his management team last weekend.
In his speech, The CP stated that the essence of their visits wasย to encourage collaboration between the two sister agencies and to solicit support whenever the need arises to fight crimes in the state.
Responding, Dr. Oramalugo told his visitor that hisย coming has extended the hand of friendship not on official ground,ย but also on personal ground as well, he also briefed the new CP on the efforts his Command is doing which is not only revenue generation, anti smuggling, but also providing security to citizens of Kebbi State.
He pointed out that, Nigeria Customs Service Kebbi Command had been synergysing with Nigeria Police Force Kebbi Command to provide peaceful atmosphere to the entire people of Kebbi state for economic growth and development.ย
In another sad development, the Comptroller commiserated with the family of one officer, Aminu Abdullahi who was killed in the line of duty by an approaching car.
The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, 13th July, when a 2015 Toyota Corolla model with chassis no: 2TBURHE3FC456204 rammed into the victim along tamac road, Yauri local government area of the state.
The officer was rushed to General Hospital Yauri for immediate medical attention, after a proper first aid was done; he was transferred to orthopaedic hospital Wammako, in Wammako local government area of Sokoto state where unfortunately, he gave up the ghost on Friday morning after responding to treatment during the night.ย
