Customs In Kebbi Generates N99.25 Million In July

The Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has expressed that despite the closure of land borders with Niger Republic, the Command was able to generates N99.25 million revenue in the month of July.
The State Comptroller of Customs, Dr. Ben. Oramalugo stated this at a press Conference he had with journalists at the Command Headquarters in Birnin-Kebbi to showcase the revenue generation efforts of his men across the Command areas.
Oramalugo expressed that the coup d’etat in Niger and subsequent border closure with the affected West African Country has sharply affected the Command’s revenue generation drive.
On anti smuggling, the Customs boss reiterated that it is a well known fact that the higher revenue generation is achieved will increase suppression of smuggling. Pointing out that the Command Officers and men are on high alert with their moral very high, leading to the seizure of twety-eight items recorder in the month of July.
Items sized in the month under review includes, 138 packs of 225mg tramaking/tramadol, 81 tablet size of cannabis sativa, 46 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50kg each and 40 bags of rice of 25kg.
Others are, 88 bales of second hands clothings, 4,200 litres of pms, 525 litres of diesel and 37 legs of vegetable oil among other, bringing total seizure of items to N51.43 million.
