I have watched two matches at AFCON, both in Abidjan on two grounds.
In my entire period of watching football at Stadia, this is the first tournament I observed that the number of females at the stadium is almost the same as the number of males.
The game between Cote D’Ivoire and Nigeria broke the tournament attendance record with 49,517 people in the 60,012-capacity Stadium.
The female population that attended this match cannot be less than 20.000.
They also dominate the population of volunteer stewards at the stadia.
