Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri OON, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has been recognized as the first Nigerian recipient of the esteemed Bridge Builder award by the Diaspora African Forum (DAF) Awards 2024 in Ghana.
This accolade celebrates her tireless global advocacy for the Diaspora community, marking her significant contributions to fostering peace, inclusivity, and unity both within Nigeria and internationally.
Dr. Erieka Bennett, Founder & Head of Mission at DAF, lauded Dabiri’s exceptional dedication during the award presentation, expressing admiration for her longstanding commitment to Nigeria’s Diaspora.
She described Dabiri-Erewa a dynamic force and a beloved figure, emphasizing her instrumental role in bridging connections between Nigeria and its Diaspora.
In her acceptance speech, Dabiri-Erewa expressed gratitude to the organizers for their efforts in strengthening the bond between the Diaspora and the continent.
She stressed the importance of unity among Africans, urging collaboration to cultivate a thriving African continent.
Among the distinguished recipients of the award were former Ghanaian President H.E. John Agyekum Kufuor, Mr. Alex Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, Dr. Edem Adzogenu, Co-Founder of AfroChampions, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mrs. Hanna Atiase, CEO of Ewells Realty and Consultancy, and Mrs. Oshunbumi Fernández-West, CEO of ODUNDE.
The DAF aims to accomplish groundbreaking work in Diaspora advocacy at the highest levels of government in Africa.
