Kebbi First Lady Advocates Stiffer Punishment For Gender Violators

The Wife of the Kebbi state Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasiru Idris, has advocated for stiffer Punishment in gender based violators, just as she called on the State Assembly to promulgate a law in this direction.
Hajia Nasare Idris made this known at an interactive session with journalists in to commemorate this year’s International women day celebration in Birnin-Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State.
She stated that her office is working with Non governmental Organisations in the state to encourage the state government to promulgate law that would provide stiffer punishment for culprits of gender base violence, particularly rapists.
The first Lady of Kebbi State told journalists that, more emphasis is being giving to women empowerment so that they become self reliance.
She pointed out that recently thousand of women were empowered with skills and funds across the state for them to become self employed and assured more empowerment for women in the state.
She added that, her office is concern about the girl child education, whereby sponsoring of girl child to school is part of her programme and would continue bringing out of school girl child back to school.
The first Lady advised women across the State to avoid exposing their body on social media by way of advertising their product and skills.
