Anti-Party Activities: Ondo Peoples Assembly Commends APC For Suspending Senator Jimoh Ibrahim

The Ondo Peoples Assembly (OPA) has lauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its decisive action in suspending Senator Jimoh Ibrahim from the party.

This suspension follows allegations of anti-party activities, disparaging remarks against the party’s national leadership, and other anti-democratic actions subsequent to his defeat in the Ondo state APC Gubernatorial primary.

Senator Ibrahim, who lost the primary to the incumbent Governor Honorable Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been accused of undermining the party’s unity and efforts.

The APC’s decision to suspend him was enacted at the ward level, aligning with the earlier demands made by the OPA.

“The Ondo Peoples Assembly is delighted by the decision of the APC to sanction Senator Jimoh Ibrahim. His actions have been detrimental to the party’s integrity and cohesion. This suspension is a necessary step to maintain discipline and order within our ranks,” stated Olufemi Lawson, the Convener of OPA.

The OPA reiterated its confidence in the gubernatorial primary process, which saw Governor Aiyedatiwa emerge as the APC candidate for the upcoming November 2024 governorship election.

The Assembly emphasized that the primary was conducted fairly and transparently, reflecting the will of the party members.

“We trust the process that has produced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the APC candidate. It is now crucial for all members and stakeholders of the APC to rally behind him to ensure our party’s success in the forthcoming election,” Lawson added.

The OPA called on the party’s members to remain united and focused, encouraging them to continue supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy.

The Assembly believes that such solidarity is vital for the APC to maintain its leadership in Ondo State and to achieve a resounding victory in November.

In light of these developments, the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and discipline has been reaffirmed, with the party demonstrating that it will not tolerate actions that undermine its values and objectives.
