Bode George To Dosunnu Traders: I’ll Fight Like Wounded Lion To Ensure That Sanwo-Olu Mitigate The Effect Of Your Loss

A former national deputy chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Olabode Ibiyinka George, has assured the traders at the Dosunmu Market who lost several millions of Naira in an inferno that engulfed the place recently that something will be done to mitigate the effect of their loses.

Chief George, who spoke to the traders during his visit to the market on Tuesday to sympathise with them, said he would ensure that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu attend to the issue of the market without further delay.

The Atona Oodua flanked by former Lagos State Deputy Governor Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele and other PDP chieftains, said Lagosians thrive on buying and selling, adding that the cliche, “Toju o ba ti ti ehingbeti, oju o le ti Eko”, shows that commerce is at the centre of Lagos revenue.

Continuing, he said: ” This issue cut across political Parties. Looking at the people here today, nobody carries the emblem of the PDP, APC, or LP. It’s the responsibility of the government to make life easier for the people.

Chief George, who spoke in both vernacular and English during the visit, said Sanwo-Olu is his younger brother.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu is my younger brother. His elders and I grew up on this Lagos Island.”

He, however, urged the traders to exercise patient while he would ensure that the market is rebuilt to accommodate every one of them.

Speaking on behalf of the traders, Idayat Dosunmu thanked Chief George and his entourage for the visit and urged him to prevail of Governor Sanwo-Olu to expedite action on the market.
