Exclusive! Rescheduled Lagos PFN Election Holds Tomorrow …..Yemi Davis Tipped To Win….Poju Oyemade, Godman Akinlabi Join SAC
As the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos chapter prepares for its rescheduled elections tomorrow, many upset awaits some of the contestants.
An inside source revealed to newsnowonline.com.ng that Rev Yomi Kasali, who earlier alleged that he was nominated in absentia, have now joined the race and set to contest.
He has been heard bragging that he is the candidate of two former national presidents of PFN.
He had earlier said he does not believe in election for the post of chairmanship of the body but has now suddenly changed and would be contesting.
Feelers however shows he may have lost out to some other interested powers unknown to him.
In the race now is Rev Yemi Davies, who though have not been known to attend any PFN Lagos state meeting but rumoured to be the favourite of some other leaders.
Presiding Pastor of Jesus Evangelical Church located in the Alade area of Ikeja, Pastor Esosa Ize-Iyamu, has also joined the fray.
Our correspondent was shown a copy of his C.V. which he seems to have been sending around to campaign for his candidature.
To ensure that the new generation is represented in the State Advisory Council, Televangeslist Poju Oyemade of The Covenant Nation, Godman Akinlabi of the Elevation Church and others are now in the mix.
According to the source who spoke on the condition of anonymity after the last meeting of the Apostle Okwuonu led executive Council of PFN today said what will happen tomorrow is just the coronation.
He said; ” The die is cast! Yemi Davis has been anointed by the fathers of the PFN, and we don’t expect anything to change. However, the winner of the annulled election, Rev Kehinde, has remained silent, though he was included in the new SAC list. Information reaching us points to the fact that the fathers have also withdrawn their support for Apostle Enyinnaya Okwuonu, who has also been asked to step down. Though Rev. Esosa Ize-Iyamu may not be able to muster enough support to win tomorrow. He may end up becoming the deputy chairman. Everything has been predetermined, ” he added.
Recall that the Lagos PFN held its election but was annulled due to the alleged poor representation of the bloc by the national president of the PFN, Bishop Francis Wale Oke.
The furore and the bad blood generated from the disputed election according to the source will affect the new leadership to take the full grasp of the support base of the PFN at the grassroots.
