Edo 2024:NNPP Elders Overrule Suspension Of Party’s Gov’ship Candidate …Reconcile Aggrieved Factions
Some leaders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) led by the former Vice Presidential candidate, Bishop Isaac Idahosa in Edo State have stepped in to restore sanity within the ranks of the party ahead of the forthcoming governorship poll in the state.
At a meeting of the elders in held in Etsako East Local Government, it was unanimously agreed that the suspension order placed on the party’s governorship candidate, Pastor Azemhe Azena by his ward be upturned.
Addressing the media shortly after the meeting, the leader of the elders, Bishop Idahosa stated that calm has returned to the party and that members are being mobilized for the victory of the party later in coming governorship election.
He said, “We members of the Elders Forum of the NNPP here in Edo State have successfully waded into the crisis within our party. We can now report back that peace has returned and Rev Azehme Azena is the candidate of our great party, NNPP.”
It must be noted that we have taken time and efforts to listen to all the parties involved in the dispute and we have successfully reconciled them together as bonafide members of our party where they all agreed to work assiduously for our candidate.
While blaming the crisis on miscommunication on the part of the parties involved, Bishop Idahosa stated that “Let it now be known that no more war of attrition again in our party and our members are now working together for the victory of our candidate and our great party, NNPP here in Edo State.”
Among those at the reconciliation meeting presided over by Bishop Idahosa are the deputy national chairman South South Mr. Stanley and the state Chairman of the party.
