NBA Presidency: Thany Dumps Afam Osigwe’s Camp; Backs Ikwuazom
The Immediate Past Chairman NBA Ikorodu Branch, Mr. Idris Kolawole Thany has dumped the Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN camp for the Chukwuka Ikwuazom, SAN camp.
Thany in an electronic mail sent to our correspondent said his decision to mobilise for Ikwuazom , SAN, was based on extensive consultation with like minds on the need to present a common front.
He, however, maintains that his personal interest has given way to group interest in order for Southwest Lawyers to go into NBA election as a bloc.
He said: “I decided to vote and mobilise support for Mr. Chukwuka Ikwuazom, SAN after a broad based, wide and extensive consultation and brainstorming with political like minds and leading lights of the Southwest in the legal profession. My decision was further made after a thorough dispassionate consideration of the antecedents of each Presidential Candidate towards the protection and advancement of the interests of the Southwest as a whole in NBA. My personal interest has given way to my group interest. Southwest Lawyers must come together and go into this election as a bloc and not as individuals if the old glory of the Southwest must be restored in the legal profession in Nigeria. This is the time to partner with like minds across Nigeria to actualize a Southwest NBA Presidency come 2026 in line with the letters and spirit of the NBA Constitution. Chukwuka Ikwuazom, SAN, is one of such like minds and lovers of the Southwest.”
