Omoleye: A replica Of Governor Oyebanji, By Olufemi Alonge Alonso
I got to know yesterday that the Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Hon. Bamidele Omoleye shares some similarities with the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Immediately after the governor was elected, he saw himself as Ekiti Governor-Elect by visiting all relevant stakeholders, including former governor Ayodele Fayose of the People’s Democratic Party.
Today, Fayose is the chief supporter of Governor Oyebanji.Oyebanji, as Governor-Elect, attended the 50th birthday of a former member of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr Samuel Omotosho of the People’s Democratic Party.
According to Senator ‘Biodun Olujimi of the People’s Democratic Party, Oyebanji is her friend.All the leadership attributes ascribed to Engr. Segun Oni can be seen in Oyebanji.
No politician in Ekiti has come out publicly to criticize Oyebanji’s government because he has a good rapport with almost every prominent citizen of the state.As it stands, if the ruling party picks Oyebanji for a second term, the general election will be a walkover because the governor through his leadership style has won the hearts of the entire citizens of the state.
Apart from Fayose and his loyalists, many PDP members will not vote against Oyebanji.As the people of Ekiti State are making good comments about Governor Oyebanji, the people of Ido/Osi LG are making pleasant remarks as well about the chairman of the council, Hon. Bamidele Omoleye.
Omoleye, before he assumed office, just like Oyebanji went with some prominent leaders of his All Progressives Congress to receive a blessing from Hon. Thaddeus Akinola Aina, a member of the People’s Democratic Party, who was the council chairman between 2004- 2006.
The move shocked almost every member of the opposition party in Ilogbo Ward.
Just yesterday, the chairman left Ido for Ado-Ekiti to attend the naming ceremony of the daughter of a member of the People’s Democratic Party with his counterpart from Moba Local Government, Hon. Fadugba Bamidele.
No doubt, the chairman, through the act, has naturally wooed more supporters for himself and his political party.
Oyebanji, through native intelligence, has schooled all political animals in the state on how to play the game and Omoleye is following in the footsteps of the governor.
