Community Outreach In Ogba:UAC Offers Free Medicare, Legal Services

United Action for Change (UAC) is proud to announce the successful conclusion of our 2024 community outreach in Ogba, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area.

Secretary, United Action for Change, Comrade Michael Popoola Ajayi in a statement issued and made available to Newsnow said the event which held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 was organized in collaboration with key partners to provide vital services to the community at no cost.

The statement read: “In partnership with the Eye Foundation, over 200 residents benefited from free eye screenings, with many receiving treatments for common eye conditions.

“Notably, several cataract surgeries would be carried out, giving the gift of clearer vision to members of the community who may otherwise not have had access to such life-changing interventions eye glasses were also given out freely.

“In addition, a dedicated team of lawyers was present at the event to offer free legal consultations and services.

“These legal professionals addressed a variety of concerns, ranging from landlord tenant disputes to family law matters, electricity bills disputes etc ensuring that residents received valuable guidance on their rights and legal options.

“Furthermore, we partnered with Ago Medical Centre, which provided free health screenings, including blood pressure checks, blood sugar level testing, and general medical consultations.

“This crucial service enabled many in the community to access preventive care and receive advice on maintaining better health.

“United Action for Change remains committed to empowering underserved communities by providing essential services and fostering a stronger, healthier, and more informed society.

“We are grateful to all our partners and volunteers who made this outreach possible and to the residents of Ogba for their warm reception.

“We urge the government and private sector to continue supporting such initiatives, as they are essential in bridging the gap in healthcare and legal services, especially for vulnerable populations.

“Together, we can drive meaningful change for our communities.”
