The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the sudden death of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Bolaji Olugbenga, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ijanikin Police Station.
CSP Olugbenga reportedly collapsed in his office on Thursday evening and was later pronounced dead.
Confirming the report, the Command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Police (SP) Benjamin Hundeyin, during a press briefing on Friday night did not provide specific details about the officer or the circumstances surrounding his death.
Reports indicate that the DPO collapsed in his office and passed away before he could be transported to a hospital on Thursday night.
The announcement of his death reportedly left the officers at the station in mourning.
A source from the division confirmed that the officer’s body had been transferred to a mortuary.
