DSS Officer Threatens To Kill Journalist Over Electricity Bill

An Officer of Department of State Security (DSS) attached to Kebbi State Command, identified as Dauda Auwalu Taura last weekend engaged the Correspondent of Authority newsper in the State in a physical confrontation by slapping the journalist severally six times.
The Journalist, Mallam Shuaibu Zubair a co-tenant of the DSS officer was alleged to have demanded for his money to settle their house electricity bill.
The DSS officer was said to became angry because his co- tenants demanded that he only paid N4,000 out of N5,000 he ought to paid, suddenly got angry and slapped the Journalist did times and also threatened to kill him as nothing will happened.
While briefing newsmen about his ordeal,Mallam Shuaibu Zubair explained that Taura who supposed to pay N5,000 electricity charges gave N4,000 to one of their neighbours which prompted others to find out who had not completed his money.
He said: ” Taura is using two apartments and each apartment is to pay N2,500 monthly. We are gathering the monthly bill and all of us have contributed our money completely. All the money to be paid is N10,000. When we are calculating the money,it was discovered that he was the one who has not completed his money. When we approached him, he suddenly got angry, slapped me six times unreplied in the presence of other tenants.”
After that, he said that: “you have received beating for nothing,and you will die for nothing. It is today you will know that I am a DSS officer. If I kill you today, nothing will happen. The last thing you can do is to take me to the police station”, Zubair recounted.
The Journalist who is battling with eyes problem, said his slaps has aggravated the problem and now afraid to be living in the house.
When fellow Journalist made enquiry, a neighbour, simply identified as Maryam Aminu confirmed that the DSS officer slapped the journalist severally in their presence, trying to strangulate him before they ran out to call neighbours to come over to rescue the Journalist from the DSS man.
