2027: Group Endorses Seyi Tinubu As Lagos Governor
The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, CONYL, has endorsed Seyi Tinubu for governor of Lagos state in 2027.
The youth leaders in a statement issued in Owerrri on Tuesday by its President-General, Goodluck Ibem, Secretary Comrade Junard Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Iniobong Sampson and the Publicity Secretary, Comrade Adeyemo Adewale said the group came to the conclusion at its enlarged meeting.
The latest endorsement may lend credence to the earlier statement issued canvassing for Seyi Tinubu’s governorship in 2027.
Although several Lagosians across the political divide are said to be interested in succeeding Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, especially in the All Progressives Congress, they may not want to indicate interest now in order not to be seen as having a collision course with President Bola Tinubu, whose son, Seyi has already shown interest.
Prominent among those who are said to be interested in governing Lagos in the APC are: Dr Obafemi Kadiri Hamzat, incumbent deputy governor; The Senator representing Lagos East, Tokunbo Abiru, President Tinubu’s principal private secretary, Hakeem Muri Okunola.
