Osun Former Deputy Governor Trains 10 Youths At OAU Entrepreneurship Institute
The former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Otunba Grace Titi Tomori-Ponnle, has enrolled 10 youths at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies, Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
While presenting their letters of offer to the beneficiaries during the inauguration of the programme, the immediate Past Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede said they would be trained in catering services at the institute.
He said the training is part of the initiatives of a non-profit organization in the State, Titi Tomori Ponnle Foundation which is the vision of former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Otunba Grace Titi Tomori-Ponnle.
Ogunbodede who is the Chairman, TTP Foundation Board of Trustees said the Titi Tomori-Ponnle Foundation was established to empower women and youths across Nigeria.
The Director of the OAU Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies, Professor Olalekan Yunusa said the beneficiaries would undergo a 3-months intensive training to equip them with relevant skills to become successful in the hospital business.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss Rukayat Ibrahim who spoke on behalf of others expressed gratitude to Otunba (Mrs.) Grace Titi Tomori-Ponnle for the gesture.
Speaking further, Professor Ogunbodede said Otunba (Mrs.) Grace Titi Tomori-Ponnle, who served as Deputy Governor of Osun State and Commissioner for Education from 2010 to 2018 has continued to champion the rights of women and youths, empowering them for individual, group and national development.
According to him “The Foundation aims to empower women and youths by providing them with the necessary skills, education, resources, and support to achieve economic independence and societal impact, fostering sustainable development and gender equality.
“The vision is to create a society where women and youths in Nigeria are empowered to reach their full potential, achieve economic independence, and actively participate in shaping their communities. The Titi Tomori-Ponnle Foundation is committed to providing education, skills development, and support to women and youths that will enable them to thrive personally, professionally, and socially.
“Activities include Skills Training and Workshops, Community Outreach, Collaboration with Schools, Annual Conferences among others.Through strategic partnerships, innovative programs, and community engagement, the foundation seeks to build a brighter future where every woman and youth can thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.”
Professor Ogunbodede said the Formal launching of the Foundation is slated for Saturday December 21, 2024, at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium, Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Osogbo.
