Lagos FA Congress Ratifies Dismissal Of LSFCA

The Lagos State Football Association, Saturday January 25th, 2025, at its Surulere Secretariat, held its State Extra Ordinary Congress, where it upheld and ratified the dismissal of the Lagos State Football Coaches Association from the Lagos State Congress, which is the highest football decision making body with immediate effect.
The 14 Congress members unanimously voted for the dismissal of the LSFCA, based on gross misconduct, insurbodination and other acts that ran foul of several sections of the amended Statues of the Lagos State Football Association.
The State Congress, however, reiterated that Lagos State Football Coaches Association are still an integral part of the Lagos FA, in view of the continuous coaches programmes and coaches education, but the LSFCA, has no voting powers and are no longer, a part of the the State Congress.
It added that however, the coaches remain partners in the development of football in the state, and would continue to be a part of the Lagos FA’s football developmental activities and programmes.
The Lagos FA Chairman who was unavoidably absent, but ably represented by the Vice-Chairman Adedotun Coker, reaffirmed its unflinching commitment to the development of football in the state, while also reassuring the football investors and stakeholders of it’s unalloyed support and encouragement at all times, for the benefits of the game.
Speaking earlier at the event, Director-General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, who was represented by the Director of Sports Development, Olumide Travih, said the Lagos State Government, through the Sports Commission, recognises and applaud the several efforts of the Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed led Lagos FA, towards youth empowerment and development through football.
