Kebbi Govt Distributes Drugs To PHCC, Schools

The Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KECHEMA) in line with its mandate to bring health care delivery to all Citizens in the State early in the week distributed drugs and other medical consumables to Primary Health Care Centres (PHCC) and Higher Institutions in the State. 

KECHEMA through its introduction of  Tertiary Institution Social Health Insurance Programme, aimed at providing comprehensive health insurance coverage to students and staff of tertiary institutions in the state.

In line with its mandate, the Agency distributed drugs and medical consumables to 20 best-performing Primary Care Providers who perform excellently in discharging KECHEMA programes.

The new scheme according to the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Jaafar Muhammad Augie is a state health insurance programme aimed at strengthening the state primary healthcare system, particularly in school clinics located within state-owned tertiary educational institutions. 

The Executive Secretary of KECHEMA , Dr Jaafar Muhammad Augie, in an interview with newsmen, describes the programme as innovation designed to promote universal health coverage, reduce out-of-pocket expenses, and improve healthcare services among the beneficiary population.

Earlier in her remarks, the wife of the State governor, Hajia Nafisat Nasir Idris  while presenting the drugs to the benefitting Health care facilities applaud the efforts of the Kebbi State Government in prioritizing Healthcare services in the State.

The State Commissioner for Health, Yunusa Ismail praised the Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency,  (KECHEMA)for its foresight and collaborative effort in selecting 20 out of 161 PHCCas best performing health Care Centers in the state.

The Primary Health Care Center in Kangiwa, Suru, Andarai and MCH Tudun Wada Birnin Kebbi were among the facilities recognized for their exceptional performance.
