The Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), in its continued bids to strategically reposition the player’s union for better services to past and current footballers, have announced the appointments of caretaker committees for FCT, Abuja and Kogi State.

While announcing the appointments of the committees, President of PFAN Tijani Babangida stated that the committees are to run the affairs of the union in their respective states  for 2 years till formal elections are held.

Speaking further, the General Secretary of PFAN Comrade Edema Fuludu stated, “we have some states with existing executive committee in place like Delta and Ekiti for example. But most states, do not yet have and every state has to have an executive committee in line with our constitution for ease of administration.

“Therefore those states with serious minded members have to take the mantle of leadership to work with the national executives. The creation of caretaker committees is a precursor to formal elections in line with constitutional provision,” Fuludu explained.

The FCT Caretaker Committee is a 10- man team led by Comrade Mustapha Mubdiyu as Chairman and Umar Giwa, Secretary.

While Hon. Adama Yahaya and Tijani Ibrahim leads the Kogi State Caretaker Committee as Chairman and Secretary, respectively.
