Kebbi PDP Condemns Members Defection To APC; Sets For Legal Action

The Kebbi State chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to institutes legal actions against Hon. Salisu Garba Koko, Member Representing Koko-Besse/Maiyama Federal Costituency in the Federal House of Representatives who defected to the All Progerssive Congress (APC), early this week. 

In a press statement  made available to newsmen, signed by the Party’s PRO, Sani Dododo described the defection of Hon. Koko as a shocking betrayal and a slap on the faces of the people of Koko-Besse/Maiyama Federal Constituency, who entrusted him with their mandate.

 Pointing out that he reason given for his defection is laughable to say the least and also exposed his insincerity as there are no reported rift within the PDP folds in Kebbi State.

He said the party’s State chapter viewed his action as irresponsible and selfish, demonstrating a clear disregards for the welfare of his Constituency, therefore, members, supporters and symphatizers of the party are to remain calm and be committed to the party ideal as we shall seek legal redress to restore our mandate. 

“Our team of Lawyers are currently compiling relevant documents to institute legal actions against Hon.Salisu Garba Koko as stipulated in the Constitution.

 “We, therefore, appeal to all our members, particularly the good people of Koko-Besse and Maiyama Federal Constituency to remain steadfast in demanding pure democratic solution to Nation’s problems which have been exacerbated by the APC led government’s poor polices and performance.” The statement read.
