Ex- SDP Presidential Candidate, Adewole Adebayo, S’West Vice Chair Congratulate New Afenifere Leader
Prince Adewole Adebayo, former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in 2023 general election has expressed heartfelt congratulations to the new Afenifere leader, Oba Oladipo Olaitan.
Also, the South West national vice chairman of the SDP , Alani Silas, has congratulated the new leader.
In an electronic mail sent to Newsnowonline.com.ng on Wednesday, both Prince Adewole and Silas urged Oba Olaitan to strive to uphold the principles and ethics that Afenifere is known for.
The duo urged the new leader to see his position as an opportunity to bring back the Omoluabi ethos that the Yoruba is noted for.
” He should see himself as servant leader that’s privilege at this moment to lead the Yoruba socio-political group. He should also strive to unite all the various tendencies in Afenifere with the view to present a common front on all issues, especially the ones that speak to our wellbeing.”
It would be recalled that the acting leader of Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo died on Friday February 14, 2025 at the age of 96.
