A former chief whip of the Senate, Prof Sola Adeyeye, has opened up on how he saved former President Olusegun Obasanjo during the administration of the dark googled general, Sani Abacha.

Adeyeye, who spoke in an explosive interview monitored on channels television on Sunday said he alerted the personal physician of Obasanjo whom he had worked with in the past when he got the information.

” When I was in the kudirat radio, the democracy radio we started to champion the de-annulment of June 12, 1993 presidential election,we got the information that Yar’Adua had been poisoned that he would die in four weeks. We alerted Nigerians, but nobody believed me. They even branded me an alarmist. There is a news outlet then that we normally dropped the news and it was there when Yar’Adua died exactly four weeks thereafter.

Adeyeye also lampooned the Private Sector, accusing them of distortions and causing great harm to the economy.

He said they’re responsible for the economic downturn in Nigeria.

He, however, said the highest donor at Gen Ibrahim Babangida’s book launch and richest African man, Aliko Dangote who donated N8 billion would recoup his money from Nigerians.

” You see those people at the IBB’s book launch. They’re the ones responsible for the economic crisis. The highest donor, Aliko Dangote, a fantastic and brilliant man will get his money back from Nigerians. Nigerians will pay for it. That N8 billion, it just a question of spreading it on his products, ala sugar, cement and Petroleum. By the time he puts N4 or N5 naira on the products he’d recoup his donation,”he added.

The former Senate whip who says Nigeria’s economic woes stems from the rent seeking economy that will practice said until we free the private sector from the distortion, it will continue.
