Northern Youth Submits Request To Seyi Tinubu,Seeks Revitalisation Of Baro Ports, Expansion Of FUT

Siyasar Yanci, A political pressure group in Northern Nigeria has submitted its request to the son of the president Seyi Tinubu, seeking his intervention on critical infrastructure in the region.

The group submitted its request during the visit of the President Son, to an iftar breakfast with youths of Niger State in Minna on Wednesday.

In the request signed by leader of the group Yahaya Mohammed Usman, the group urged Seyi Tinubu use his influence to intervene in the revamp of Baro port, deplorable states of federal roads in state and expansion of federal university of technology Minna to offer more conventional courses.

While acknowledging that Mr Tinubu is not holding any public office, Mr Usman said he can use his influence to lobby for the execution of their demands.

“We thank you for the initiative to have Iftar with citizens across the fasting Muslim communities in Nigeria.

“This effort is innovative as it is commendable. Well done!

“Beyond that, we appreciate that you do not hold any public office, yet no one can say you do not have influence; it is on this strong bedrock of influence that we wish to kindly request you to help intervene in the following areas affecting Northern Nigeria and especially Niger state;

“Baro Port: Commissioned but not operational.

“Expand Federal University of Technology to cover medical courses, law, and social sciences, with a presidential approval for a teaching hospital and a cancer centre like FUT Owerri and FUT Yola.

“Road Networks [Niger State has the longest Federal Road Network] but mostly dilapidated; only recently did the Lambata-Lapai-Bida Road claim 12 lives [A man lost 2 wives, 1 child], Tegina-Makera-Mokwa Road is not passable, and Minna-Kontagora Road is bad too.

“No single presidential aide was appointed from Niger State. Please kindly facilitate some for the youth.

“We thank President Bola Tinubu and wish him all the best in his term as President and Commander in chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
