FOPP Tackles Lagos Council Chairman Over Breach Of Electoral Guidelines

The Forum of Opposition Political Parties, FOPP, is compelled to address the blatant disregard for electoral rules displayed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area (LGA). Despite the clear guidelines, the APC’s sitting Council Chairman, and other party aspirants have failed to remove their campaign banners.

Specific Violations:

– Non-compliance with Electoral Guidelines: The APC’s failure to adhere to the rules undermines the integrity of the electoral process and creates an uneven playing field.

– Abuse of Incumbency: The sitting Council Chairman’s actions demonstrate a clear abuse of incumbency, using his position to gain an unfair advantage over other contestants.

– Disregard for Level Playing Field: By not removing their banners, APC aspirants are sending a message that they are above the law and unwilling to play by the rules.

Condemnation:

We, the opposition parties, strongly condemn this blatant disregard for the rules and urge the electoral authorities to take immediate action to enforce compliance. The people of Oshodi/Isolo LGA deserve a fair and transparent electoral process.

Demands:-

Immediate Removal of Banners: APC aspirants, including the sitting Council Chairman, must remove their campaign banners in compliance with electoral guidelines.

– Level Playing Field:Electoral authorities must ensure a level playing field for all contestants, preventing any further abuse of incumbency.

– Sanctions for Non-compliance: We demand that sanctions be imposed on APC aspirants who fail to comply with electoral rules.

– ⁠We demand for the Disqualification and other Disciplinary Measures to be Promptly taken against the Violator(s).
