I Never Assaulted Any 79-Year-Old Landlord, It’s A Lie From The Pit Of Hell-Ifekowajo CDA Chair
OFFICIAL STATEMENT AND REBUTTAL TO FALSE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST AMBASSADOR BOLAJI NURUDEEN YISA AND THE IFEKOWAJO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (CDA)
The attention of the Ifekowajo Community Development Association (CDA), Ayobo-Ipaja, has been drawn to a malicious and grossly misleading publication being circulated online by P.M. Express, purporting that Ambassador Bolaji Nurudeen Yisa, the CDA Chairman and a respected community leader, allegedly assaulted one Mr. Akojede Rasaq, a 79-year-old resident of the community.
We categorically refute these claims in totality and assert that the report is fabricated, distorted, and designed to tarnish the image of Ambassador Bolaji Nurudeen Yisa and discredit the good work of the Community Development Association.
THE TRUE ACCOUNT OF EVENTS:
1. Public Health and Safety Concern: A drainage dug by Mr. Akojede Rasaq in front of his residence at 28 Ifelodun Street, Ayobo, was found to be excessively deep, poorly constructed, and blocked, posing a serious threat to children and residents, while also serving as a breeding ground for mosquitoes and diseases.
2. CDA’s Intervention: As a matter of community safety, the CDA mobilized labourers to cover the exposed drainage, in response to numerous complaints by concerned residents.
3. Aggression by Mr. Akojede: During the repair exercise, Mr. Akojede violently confronted the labourers, attempting to physically stop the community-sanctioned work. In the ensuing scuffle, Mr. Akojede sustained a minor facial injury, not from any physical assault by Ambassador Bolaji Nurudeen Yisa, but in the process of wrestling with the workers.
4. False Allegation and Police Report: Mr. Akojede subsequently made a false report to the police, alleging that Ambassador Yisa slapped him. The matter was investigated at Alagolo Police Station, and after due clarification and witness accounts, it was resolved that the CDA should bear the cost of medical treatment as a peace gesture — not an admission of guilt.
5. Malicious Media Campaign: It is both unethical and deplorable that the family of Mr. Akojede and certain unnamed parties are now feeding the press with an outright falsehood, including a fabricated political motive, alleging that Ambassador Yisa is a PDP aspirant — an assertion that is entirely baseless and mischievous.
WE STATE AS FOLLOWS: Ambassador Bolaji Nurudeen Yisa did NOT physically assault Mr. Akojede or anyone else.
The CDA acted responsibly in protecting the community from a public health hazard.
The police have not established any wrongdoing against the CDA or its Chairman, and there is no criminal charge or conviction whatsoever.The attempt to politicize this matter and malign the CDA is a desperate act of defamation which will not stand unchallenged.
OUR DEMAND: We call on P.M. Express and all other media outlets to immediately retract the false publication, issue a public apology, and cease further dissemination of unverified and damaging content.
Failure to do so will compel the CDA and Ambassador Bolaji Nurudeen Yisa to pursue legal redress to protect his name and the integrity of the Association.
We also urge the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, to ensure that impartiality is maintained and that truth prevails over falsehood and sensationalism.
