I Will Not Leave APC For Whatever Reason, Kebbi Governor, Nasiru Idris Declares
From Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi
The Kebbi State Governor Comrade Dr. Nasiru Idris, has vehemently denied allegations circulating in a portion of the social media of his readiness to dump the APC and pitch his tent with the Social Democratic Party,SDP, which is currently being galvanised by the former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai.
Addresing his supporters and party faithfuls at the government house auditorium Thursday after the workers’ day celebration, Gov. Idris stated that his attention has been drawn to a ridiculous and malicious report circulating in the social media that he Gov Idris and four other governors wanted to defect to SDP.
“This Is fallacious, ridiculous and baseless. Adding that at no time did he and any other Governors discuss the imaginary notions to join the SDP, purportedly championed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, orchestrated by El-Rufai in concerts with some Politicians.
“This report is not only fake, but a huge joke taken too far by some disgruntled elements in the services of discredited and idle Politicians as well those who turned themselves to laughable comedians.
“I would have chosen to regard the report as a dance of a madman dancing naked in the market square, but for the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state categorically that I am not a political prostitute. I was made in APC by APC and for APC, I will be the last person to leave this formidable party for any coalition , no matter who the architects and builders are.”
He pointed out that I Comrade Nasir Idris is a leader who loves his people. The people of Kebbi State loves me with passion, beyond comment, the people of Kebbi state are completely in APC, and I can therefore not afford to abandon them people and embrace strange fellows.
“I am completely focused on making Kebbi State better and consolidating the gains and successes of our party and our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If they tell you again that Kaura is likely to leave APC , tell them I will be the last man standing.”
