FCID Alagbon Debunks Allegation Of N50,000 Fee To Submit Petition
The office of the Assistant Inspector -General of Police, FCID Annex Lagos, has debunked the allegation of N50,000 fee to submit petition.
Mayegun Aminat, FCID Police Public Relations Officer, an Assistant Supretendent of Police, ASP, in a statement signed, said the office of the AIG Ochalla had begun an investigation into the matter.
She, however, urged members of the public and any distressed citizen with complaints against the conduct of police personnel to report directly to her office, adding that AIG Ochalla operates an open-door policy.
The statement read: ” The attention of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, FCID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, AIG Margaret Agebe Ochalla, has been drawn to a recent publication alleging the imposition of a N50,000 fee for the submission of petitions at the FCID Annex, Alagbon.
“The report is misleading and does not reflect the values or operational standards upheld by the AIG and her leadership style.
“AIG categorically dissociates herself and her office from such conduct.
“She maintains a firm and unwavering stance against all forms of corruption and unprofessional behavior within the Nigeria Police Force.
“She reiterates that her office neither demands nor endorses any unofficial financial payment for the submission or processing of petitions.”

The attention of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, FCID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, AIG Margaret Agebe Ochalla, has been drawn to a recent publication alleging the imposition of a N50,000 fee for the submission of petitions at the FCID Annex, Alagbon.
The report is misleading and does not reflect the values or operational standards upheld by the AIG and her leadership style.
AIG categorically dissociates herself and her office from such conduct.
She maintains a firm and unwavering stance against all forms of corruption and unprofessional behavior within the Nigeria Police Force.
She reiterates that her office neither demands nor endorses any unofficial financial payment for the submission or processing of petitions.
In line with her commitment to accountability and justice, AIG Ochalla operates an open-door policy and encourages any distressed citizen with complaints against the conduct of police personnel to report directly to her office.
Alternatively, such reports can be made to the X-Squad department or the Police Complaints Response Unit, both located within the FCID Annex Lagos.
It is important to state that any officer found to be extorting or demanding money for official duties will be dealt with decisively in accordance with the law.
Members of the public are encouraged to come forward with credible and verifiable evidence to enable appropriate disciplinary action.
This allegation is under investigation and any officer found guilty, will surely face disciplinary action.
