Security Scare: Alimosho, Agege, Ojo, Others May Not Participate In APC LG Primaries At Acme Today

There are serious indications that delegates from the 6 LG and LCDAs of Alimosho will not be allowed to participate in the primary elections holding today at the State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress on Acme Road, Ogba.

A source who is privy to the arrangement said the Chairman of the APC primary committee, Mr Babatunde Ogala, a senior advocate of Nigeria informed Mr. Fatoki, Chairman APC Alimosho LGA that primary elections will not hold in Alimosho, Agege, Ojo among others because of security report.

The decision, the source said is taken to protect the interest of some political gladiators in the area, especially a former House of Assembly member from Alimosho Hon. Bisi Yusuff and some other cronies who are said to be more disposed to a process of selection than electing the candidates of the party.

However, some delegates from some of the affected council areas declared the report as unfounded and a contraction of the reality on ground.

” For instance one of the delegates asserted that all the 27 delegates and agents of the eight chairmanship aspirants from one of the LCDAs were convened to the venue of the primaries in one single BRT bus in a convivial and friendly atmosphere prevailed during the drive irrespective of their different preferences.

“How then does this kind of atmosphere indicate any threat to peace?” he queried.

Meanwhile, a large crowd of delegates and party supporters continue to mill around the entry to the party headquarters on ACME Road, Ogba.
