Just In:Armed Policemen Take Over PDP Secretariat
The lingering crisis in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, continues on Monday in Abuja as armed policemen took over the Wadata Plaza headquarters of the party.
This is coming on the division within the party which has created factions.
While the acting national chairman of the party, Ambassador Illiya Damagun and chairman of PDP governors forum and govenror of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed settled for expanded caucus meeting, Governor Seyi Makinde and Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah and some NWC members have vowed that the NEC meeting proposed for June 30th (today) will go as scheduled.
According to the news monitored on Channels television on Monday, journalists and other visitors have been told to leave the Secretariat as at the time of filling this report by the police deployed to maintain peace.
It’s not clear if the two factions would go on with their meetings at different venues.
