Folashade Sewande Abbey Emerges New President Of OAU Law Students’ Society
The Governor of Invictus Class, Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU) Ile-ife, Miss Folashade Sewande-Abbey, has been elected as the President Law Students’ Society in the University.
The Chairman of OAU LSS Electoral Commission, Prince Hameed Oyegbade declared Folashade Sewande-Abbey winner of the election held at LAW 209 at the faculty of Law.
Folashade Sewande-Abbey polled 340 valid votes to defeat her opponent, Mr Na’im Adebisi Akorede-jnr who got 180 valid votes.
For the post of Vice President, Miss Sarah James Abidemi polled 279 valid votes to defeat her opponent, Mr Abdulsamad Bolaji Jimoh who got valid 246 votes.

The official election results signed by the Chairman of the LSS Electoral Commission, Prince Hameed Oyegbade and Secretary, Mr Zachaeus Michael Adesoji was made available to newsmen by the Commission’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Jeremiah Alaba Oladipupo.
For the post of Principal Liaison Officer, (PLO), Mr Ayodeji Daniel Okikiola pulled 251 valid votes to defeat Miss Oluwatunmise Elizabeth Ayeni and Duduyemi Samuel who got 160 and 130 valid votes respectively.
During the election, Miss Christianah Similoluwa Adereti was elected General Secretary with 473 valid votes and Isaac Mosofeoluwa Oluwagbami was elected as the Assistant General Secretary with 545 valid votes.
Others elected include Goodness Oluwadunsin Oluwasusi, Treasurer, Rotimi Omolade Omogbemi, Financial Secretary Paul Abimbola Olatunji, Public Relations Officer, Abdulsamad Olabisi Bisiriyu, Director of Sports and Elijah Ayomide Aremu, Director of Socials.
Also, For Law Students’ Representative Council, (LSRC) Morayo Morenikeji Fadugba and Joseph Olorunifemi Ayodele were elected to represent Invictus constituency.
Oladele Olalekan Oluwanifemi, Adegbami Adefikayo Praise, Peace Ayomidipupo Idowu, Abiodun Joshua Adepoju, Olanegan John Olamitaayo and Akinfala Sodeeq were elected to represent Eclat constituency.
David Joh Kudiabor, Abdulrahman Moyosore Adisa Afor God’s Favour, Peters Obaloluwa Olaniyan and Babatunde Emmanuel Ayomide were elected to represent Sui Generis constituency while Anyebe Joseph Egwuh, Aliyah Okikiola Bolasere and Liad Mutiu Adeyinka were elected to represent Eximius Constituency.
The newly elected LSS leaders would be sworn-in by the Dean of Faculty of Law, Professor A.A Adedeji at the Faculty of Law Boardroom on Monday 28 July 2025 after receiving their certificate of return.
