Just In: Jakande Sworn In As Executive Chairman Of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA
Hon Seyi Jakande has officially taken the oath of office as the Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The significant event, presided over by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, took place alongside the swearing-in of other chairmen from various Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across Lagos State, marking a new chapter in local governance and development in the state.
While speaking with the newsmen at the ceremony, held at the Lagos House in Ikeja, Jakande expressed deep commitment to driving progress and fostering development within his community through his comprehensive 4-point HEWA Agenda, which encompasses Health, Environmental Sustainability, Education, Women and youth Empowerment, as well as Agriculture and Security.

The agenda, according to him is designed to address critical areas that impact the daily lives of residents in the LCDA.
“I am deeply honoured to serve the people of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye, and I pledge to focus on initiatives that will enhance healthcare, improve educational facilities, develop infrastructure, and boost agricultural productivity,” Jakande stated.
The new Chairman also emphasized his dedication to upholding the legacy of his father, the late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, who was the first Executive Governor of Lagos State.
His father was renowned for his visionary leadership and transformative policies that brought about rapid development and significant improvements in the lives of Lagosians.
“My father taught me the importance of serving the people with integrity and commitment. I intend to carry forward his legacy by ensuring that our community sees meaningful impacts and continues on a path of progress and prosperity,” he added.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who presided over the ceremony, congratulated the newly sworn-in chairmen and urged them to work diligently towards the betterment of their respective communities.
“The people have placed their trust in you, and it is your responsibility to deliver on your promises and uplift the standard of living for all residents,” the governor remarked.
The event concluded with a sense of optimism and anticipation, as community members and stakeholders look forward to the positive changes and initiatives that the new leadership promises to bring.
