Oba Maroof Oluwa U15 Football Championship:Organisers Releases Fixtures, Matches Start Friday In Ajegunle

All is set for the kickoff of the first Oba Maroof Oluwa U15 Football Championship, organised by Ajeromi-Ifelodun sports council.
At the draws held earlier in the week, the eight youth teams expected to participate in the championship, have been pooled into two groups of four teams each.
According to the fixtures, revealed by the Chairman of AJIF Sports Football Unit, Shola Omojoye, matches will be played in groups A and B at the Nathaniel Idowu football pitch, Oregie, Ajegunle.

Actions begin in group A, when Alaska Football Academy trade tackles with Bright Futures Football Academy, by 12 pm. Second match of the group follows immediately by 1.30pm, as Young Talented Football Academy challenges Future Star Football Academy.
In the same day, group B matches are expected to start 3pm and the group opener pitches Ajegunle United Sporting Club agsinst AJ Chelsea Feeders Football Academy. The last game of the day, will be between Young Stars Football Academy and Diamond Sport Academy.
The U15 Football Championship is ostensibly to honour and celebrate Kabiyesi Maroof Oluwa, who is an ardent sports lover and a badged football referee. It would also be recalled that the Oluwa Of Iwa and Apapa Kingdom, recently organised a youth marathon between Ajegunle and Lagos Island dubbed ‘Ajegunle-Isale-Eko’ Kids Marathon.
Also speaking on the football championship, Director-General of AJIF Sports Council, McAnthony Anaelechukwu remarked that the football championship, is one of the several sports activities planned by the sports council, as it continues to develop grassroots sports and positively engage the youths of the Ajegunle community
