Kebbi New Customs Boss Expresses Zero Tolerance For Smuggling, Indiscipline

The newly posted Controller of Customs to Kebbi State Area Command, Mahmoud Matawale Ibrahim, has expressed that he would have no passion for indiscipline, have zero tolerance for smuggling and non integrity based activities amongst officers and men of the Command.

Ibrahim stated this early in the week during an exchange of the command symbol of authority between him and outgoing Commandant, Chidi Nwaokori at the Conference room of the Area Command, Birnin-Kebbi.

He also handed down a warning that, revenue collection would be based on transparency to ensure accountability on data based strategy, noting that Kebbi State border is a strategic one for Nigeria whereby close border partrol will be maintained with other Security agencies.

”I will prirortised welfare and promotion of officers and motivate professionalism because officers are the back bone of this Command to create a favourable environment to perform optimally.

”Outstanding performance will be recognised and rewarded, as stakeholders are expected to be more transparent and be abiding with polices of the Command.” He said.

In his farewell speech, the outgoing Controller, Chidi Nwaokori thanked and appreciated officers and men of the Command for the cooperation he enjoyed from them, noting that whosoever felt bad with his conduct, it was not intentional but to do the job the way it should be done.

”Establishing  the Customs Offers Wives Association (COWA)’s Office in this Command the first of its kind here was a big achievement for me in my seven months of stayed. Also introducing compulsory sporting activities among offers is a thing of joy to me.” He said.
