Rivers: Fubara Returns

Governor Sim Fubura is expected to return to Rivers State government House today after serving six months suspension in the wake of Emergency Rule declared by President Bola Tinubu.

The President, in a statement yesterday, said the emergency rule had ended for the governor , his deputy, and legislators that were suspended on March 18, 2025, to return to their duty post.

The administrator, Ibok-Ette Ibas left the state yesterday after a weeklong activity which climaxed with a thanksgiving last Sunday in Port Harcourt.

Already, Rivers State is agog as many supporters of Governor Fubara are ecstatic to welcome him from the six months suspension.

It would be recalled that the breakdown of ‘agreement ‘between Fubara and his predecessor and the FCT minister led to the crisis that birthed the emergency rule.
