President Bola Tinubu and several political and traditional leaders on Friday attended the coronation of Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The ceremony took place at Mapo Hall in Ibadan where Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, presented the staff of office to Ladoja.

The new monarch, who turned 81 on Thursday, succeeds Owolabi Olakulehin, who died in June.Tinubu left Abuja earlier in the day aboard the presidential jet to attend the coronation.

Among the governors present were Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti.

Other dignitaries included Adebayo Adelabu, minister of power; Zacch Adedeji, chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS); Ibikunle Amosun, former governor of Ogun; and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano.

Traditional rulers at the event included Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, and Abimbola Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo.
