Kebbi Universities Join ASUU’s Strike

The Federal University Birnin Kebbi and Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero on Monday joined the nation wide ASUU strike. 

A release by the ASUU Secretariats of the two universities had called on all members of the union to embark on the strike in line with the directive of the national executive council of the union.

The Chairman of ASUU at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Dr Abdulrahman Yusuf Bashir said given the resolution of the union’s national body, the leadership of ASUU in the university has directed its members to avoid classes, participation in any accreditation exercise, conferences, public lectures, it also directed them to suspend all official meeting within the two weeks of the warning strike.

When speaking to our correspondent,one of the executive member of ASUU at KSUSTA said, “yes we have joined the strike. There is no academic activities until the NEC of ASUU call off the strike”.

He added that all union members have complied and they have stayed at home in compliance with the directive of the union.
