The Truth About The Recent Audio Recordings: Ingratitude Exposed, Generosity Vindicated

In recent days, the public has been presented with manipulated narratives through leaked audio recordings. It is time to set the record straight, not with malice, but with facts that reveal a shocking pattern of betrayal against a man known for his unparalleled generosity: Dr. Olukoya of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM).

First, an audio of Dr. Olukoya and Henry Onakpoya was released with a manipulative headline. The plan backfired. Those who listened found the conversation to be harmless, and the public rightly condemned the authors, Funke Ashekun and Sahara Reporters, for their deceit.

Then, a 51-minute audio between Funke Ashekun and Tolu Onakpoya was released. In her own voice, Tolu confirmed the depth of her ingratitude, stating that she “does not like Dr. Olukoya,” “hates to hear his voice,” and even warned her husband against watching the Manna Water program from MFM headquarters.

This hatred is not born of any wrongdoing by Dr. Olukoya, but is a symptom of a deeper spirit of entitlement, as the following facts will show.

Before Dr. Olukoya’s intervention, Tolu’s life was one of struggle. Let’s examine her “antecedents” and the immense grace she received . Tolu and her siblings were once homeless, and hustling as a hairdresser in Yaba.

She was given shelter in the church and later provided with a house at Alara Street, Iwaya.

Dr. Olukoya personally sponsored her sister Bola’s education at Our Lady of Apostles. When Bola faced an unexpected pregnancy, he remained their sole source of support. Furthermore, MFM South Africa is offering massive help to her mother.Her travels around the world with the Mountain Top Choral Group for competitions were fully sponsored by him.

Her entire life in the USA was built on his backing. He personally paid for her flight ticket, and the church covered all her initial relocation expenses. Her wedding was fully sponsored.

The support continued relentlessly. Dr. Olukoya financed her musical concerts in the USA and even sent a representative from Nigeria to ensure their success. To make her feel at home, he partly paid for the cargoing of her African foods from Nigeria to Atlanta.

Contrary to any false narratives, the Atlanta church has never had 33 pastors but 3 pastors . Despite this river of kindness, Tolu’s actions reveal a character of profound entitlement:She owes Dr. Olukoya $6,000, a debt she has refused to pay, seemingly undisturbed.

She received thousands of dollars from a Unilag lecturer, to help buy a car. No car was delivered, and the money was never returned. Dr. Olukoya stepped in to pay this debt to clear her name.

She once manipulated a situation so that her husband was transferred to the US instead of the originally intended person, Francesca Boyo’s husband, causing unnecessary conflict.

Funke Ashekun, who is pushing this smear campaign, is no stranger to this pattern of betrayal, a once homeless lady with her mother when she joined the church , the man of God got her and her mum their first house at Fola Agoro from his civil servant salary.

After Dr. Olukoya sponsored her wedding, rented a house for her, and later gave her a house and a bus for free, she left MFM, sold the properties, and only returned later to beg for re-admittance, which was graciously granted.

She borrowed money from the man of God and later audaciously claimed the “Holy Ghost” instructed her not to repay it.

Another individual, Wale Akpeji (a fraudster according to Funke Ashekun), squandered educational funds given to him by Dr. Olukoya on “strange women” and has also been involved in duping Funke Ashekun.

This is a painful but necessary revelation. It brings to life the saying: “The most dangerous people to help are often those who mistake generosity for weakness and develop an entitlement to consume.”

The actions of Tolu, Funke, and others are not just personal failings; they are a spiritual attack on the fabric of a ministry that has helped millions. This is why the powerful MFM prayer point, “Anything God has not planted in MFM, let it be rooted out!” is so crucial. We are witnessing its powerful effect.

Let this stand as a testament to the unwavering, often exploited, goodness of Dr. Olukoya. He didn’t have to do any of it. He is not related to them. Yet, he chose to help, to build, and to forgive, repeatedly.

We pray for their genuine repentance and for the continued protection and prosperity of MFM, a ministry that remains a light to the nations, despite the betrayals from within.
