Logistics Software Business Podfather Announces Board Appointments
Edinburgh, 16 October 2025 – Podfather, supplier of cloud-based logistics software to brands such as Tarmac, Breedon, Rexel and Bidfresh, has announced three new board appointments. Following the recent news of a £3.4 million investment by leading private equity firm Maven, Podfather is delighted to welcome Richard Morrell to the board as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Richard’s appointment to the Podfather board follows the additions earlier this year of Jade Roy, in the position of Finance Director, and Drew Wotherspoon as Sales Director.

Richard Morrell joined the Edinburgh-based Podfather in March 2025. Immediately prior to this, he held the position of CTO at My1Login, a leader in identity management protecting enterprises against cybersecurity threats through its Identity and Access Management Solution. Richard was also a Founder of Spherical Digital, an organisation that provides advice and support to companies that depend on IT solutions for their business to function, having been part of the founding team that built and grew Pulsant into one of the biggest mid-market IT services and datacentre companies in the UK.

Jade Roy also joins the Podfather board as Finance Director having held the post of Financial Controller since September 2024. Jade joined Podfather from the Moredun Group where she held the position of Group Deputy Finance Director. Established by Scottish Farmers in 1920, Moredun conducts world class scientific research to improve farm animal health and welfare by preventing and controlling infectious diseases of livestock.
Joining the Podfather team in January 2023 as Head of Sales, Drew Wotherspoon is also promoted to the board in the position of Sales Director. Drew has over twenty years’ experience of building and delivering growth strategies for innovative software and solutions companies, like Podfather, including Navisite (part of Accenture, a trusted digital transformation partner) and Pulsion, a well-established software development and SaaS product company.
