Dabiri-Erewa Celebrates Sani’s Record As One Of Nigeria’s Youngest Commercial Pilots
Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has congratulated Muhammad Aminu Sani, an 18-year-old Nigerian, for making aviation history by earning a United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot Licence from Phoenix East Aviation (PEA) in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Dabiri-Erewa in a statement signed by her spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun described Sani’s accomplishment as a shining example of the brilliance, resilience, and determination of young Nigerians breaking global boundaries.
She noted that his achievement at such a young age reflects the limitless potential of Nigerian youths when given the right opportunities, mentorship, and support.
Sani completed the rigorous training programme in less than 12 months, an impressive feat achieved without a single checkride failure, a rarity even among seasoned trainees. His consistency, discipline, and excellence underscore his dedication to his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot.
“Becoming a pilot has always been my childhood dream, and today I’m proud to say I’m living that dream and enjoying every step of the journey,” Sani said. “I hope my story inspires others to chase their dreams with determination and never give up on what they believe.”
Born and raised in Abuja, Sani turned 18 last week. He completed his high school education at Al-Hidaayah Academy and later graduated with distinction in Economics Foundation from The Regent College, Abuja, before proceeding to the U.S. for flight training.
At Phoenix East Aviation, one of the world’s leading FAA Part 141 flight schools, he trained under diverse and challenging conditions including night flights, instrument navigation, and multi-engine operations, maintaining an impressive 97% average score in all FAA written examinations.
Dabiri-Erewa praised Sani for his discipline and excellence, stating that his success is “a source of national pride and a beacon of hope for millions of young Nigerians striving to make a mark globally.”
She encouraged him to continue to excel as he pursues his goal of joining a leading international airline, representing Nigeria with distinction in the global aviation industry.
