Regina And Ned Are Symptoms,Not The Disease

I am worried and I don’t get this worried easily. I woke up this Sunday morning to the “statement” from Regina (I hope she wrote it, on her own). I have read the Regina “statement” five times already. Each time, my worry goes up a few degrees. How can Senator Ned claim his wife is on drugs without getting her help? From her statement, she has hinted at him being an abbetor and aider of her drug use. Ha! This is disconcerting.

Honestly, Regina Daniels did not just marry a man, she married a metaphor. A metaphor for how wealth seduces youth, how old power feeds on new innocence, and how society claps for corruption when it comes wrapped in designer labels and private jets. Ned Nwoko is not just an old man with money. He is the system itself; rich, connected, untouchable, and a representative of the old order, that buys beauty to mask decay. Regina represents a generation told to “secure the bag,” even if it means selling the soul. Behind the filters and the fairytale lies the real Nigeria, where men grow older but not wiser, where young women grow famous, but not freer, where drugs dull the pain, and luxury hides the loneliness. This is not a love story, it is a parable of power, and how easily innocence becomes collateral in the bargain between greed and survival.

The decay is generational, old men laundering their sins through young bodies, and young people justifying compromise with hashtags and followers. Drugs fill the silence where conscience used to speak. This is not about Regina and Ned. They are symptoms, not the disease. Until we stop mistaking decay for destiny, we will keep breeding wealth without wisdom, and beauty without boundaries.

Whoever can influence the Senator should please step in, to stop this public spectacle. Regina needs support and rehabilitation for this transition. We should not fold our arms and allow something bad to happen. I know Lagos state has a robust system to help this lady. She needs help! The system must work for her. Let us pray!
