Why I Apologised To My Teammates-Osimhen
Victor Osimhen has explained why he apologised to his teammates after missing some chances during the regular period of the Super Eagles’ match against Gabon.
Osimhen hit the net twice in extra time as Nigeria thrashed Gabon 4-1 in the semi-final of the African playoffs for the 2026 World Cup at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat on Thursday.
However, the 27-year-old striker squandered a few chances in front of the goal during regular time.
The most shocking miss was late in the stoppage time when he was played through on goal by Wilfred Ndidi. Osimhen slashed the finish well wide, leaving the entire Nigerian bench stunned.
