CUPP Tackles FG Over Kebbi School Girls’ Abduction …Says Country Is In A Bad Shape
The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, has come down heavily on the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the aftermath of Monday’s kidnapping of many school girls from Maga, Kebbi State, calling it “an egregiously but predictably incompetent, corrupt, and unfocused administration”.
The statement signed by CUPP’s National Spokesperson, Comrade Mark Adebayo, condemned what it described as “a continuous pattern of banditry that the APC government has no solution for in the past ten years”.
The Press statement read as follows: “It has come as a big shock to our knowledge that another set of innocent school girls have been abducted from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School at Maga in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State yesterday.
“This cycle of recurrent school tragedies since is a function of total leadership failure in this country under the APC government. President Bola Tinubu’s presidency is particularly notorious for messing up everything in this country. His presidency an egregiously but predictably incompetent, corrupt, and unfocused administration.
“While the country is burning under insecurity and harrowing economic pressures, this president is only concerned with his reelection in 2027. Rather than care for the safety and wellbeing of Nigerians, President Bola Tinubu’s Party is busy organizing rallies for the President and welcoming decampees into APC with fanfare while dancing on the blood and graves of victims of terrorism and banditry. There is a general attitude of callous indifference on the part of this government that exposes them as totally disengaged from the overwhelming suffering of Nigerians.
“There is total failure of leadership in Nigeria which is pushing us fast to the brink of state failure. From April 2014 in Chibok till today, estimated five thousand students and pupils have been abducted with some even killed in cold blood in their school premises. We have often argued that change of service chiefs is no solution to Nigeria’s insecurity. For as long as the government lacks the political will to arrest and jail or execute sponsors of terrorism and banditry in the country, for so long would the problems of insecurity remain intractable.
“Several reports have suggested that the government has a list of the sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria but the government has refused to arrest them for reasons best known to them. We know that government and security agencies would vow to recover the girls and promise that such incidents wouldn’t happen again as they usually lie to Nigerians. In few months, if not few days’ time another would still happen. Nigeria is being run by extremely incompetent and ignorant rulers who know only how to rob the country’s treasury and elections. They know next to nothing about governance. This is why Nigerians must choose a new direction in 2027 by voting out this government that has turned itself into an undertaker of Nigeria.
“CUPP commiserates with the families of the kidnapped girls and Vice Principal Hassan Yakubu Makuku and others tragically killed in that preventable attack. Having realized that he cannot steer the ship of the Nigerian state, the best option for President Tinubu to resign and let the country breathe again”.
