Fleeing Nigerian Prime Suspect In The Murder Of FRSC Officer,Daughter Arrested In Ghana

The Ghanaian police have arrested one Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun, a Nigerian wanted in connection with the killing of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) official and her daughter in Ogun state.

George Ohene-Boadi, regional commander for The Eastern South Regional Police Command, who spoke at a press conference, said the 36-year-old suspect fled to Ghana to evade arrest by the Nigerian security officials.

He said the police acted after intercepting a video alleging that Fajemirokun had abducted and killed Lasisi Funmilayo, an FRSC staff member, and her daughter, Sewa, in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.

“The suspect was wanted by the Nigerian police, but he ran to Ghana to hide with his friends,” Ohene-Boadi said.

“The Eastern Sahara Regional Police Command, on receipt of the information that the suspect was hiding in his friend’s house at Akutia, quickly deployed an intelligence-led operation to arrest the suspect in his hideout in the Eastern region.”
