Police Neutralised Bandits; Recovered 96 Cows, 45 Sheep In Vodi Village

In a special Police reports made available to newsmen over the weekend in Birnin-Kebbi by the Police Public Relations Officer, (CSP) Nafi’u Abubakar stated that armed bandits in their large numbers invaded Zodi village in Zuru LGA and rustled an unspecified number of livestock but closed to 100 in number.
“On receiving the report, personnel of 36 PMF squadrons, deployed for operation to restore peace to the area, promptly responded thereby repelling the invaders with superior gunfire.
“Consequently, many bandits were neutralised while others fled into the forest with fatal gunshot wounds along with the dead bodies of their colleagues-in-crime.
“During a search in the bush, two motorcycles, 96 cows and 45 sheep were recovered as exhibits.
“Subsequently, the recovered livestock were handed over to the village head of Zodi for return to the rightful owners.
“Similarly, the two motorcycles were handed over to the Divisional Police Officer, Zuru, for further investigation with a view to identifying and arresting the culprits.”
