The Incumbent OWA Of Igbajo Is Not Dead-Palace

In as much as the whole of Igbajo Town is mourning the demise of Prince Philip Adegboye Famodun an illustrious son of Igbajo land the Palace wish to express that the incumbent OWA of Igbajo land Alayeluwa Oba Dr Ademola Stephen Kayode Makinde Onigemo I is very much alive.

The palace wish to correct the confusing story that flooded the social media including the print and electronics media that the Owa of Igbajo land has passed which makes some well meaning Nigerians innuendated the palace with phone calls while some thronged into the palace from far and near to asked after His Royal Majesty.

The palace wish to express to the public that the Alayeluwa Oba Dr Ademola Stephen Kayode Makinde, Onigemo I The Owa of Igbajo land is alive .

The palace express that Igbajo land has lost an irreplaceable son Prince Philip Adegboyega Famodun who has work tirelessly to placed an indelible mark amongst his political associates and Igbajo Community.

It should be noted that there is an impending case at the Appellate Court in Akure where the substantive appeal against the judgement of the High Court in Ile-Ife, where also a Stay of Execution was filed.

This makes the status Quo remains.Both parties to the Appeal was in court on the 16th November 2025. The case was adjourned to January 2026.

We commiserate with the Gbeleru royal house, the immediate family of Prince Philip Adegboyega Famodun and the Igbajo Community as a whole and pray that the Lord gives everyone the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
