Photos:Dangote, FAAN MD, DG NIIA, Nafisah, Others Honoured At CIAPS’s 2025 Excellence Lecture

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, Chief Tajudeen Akande have been honoured by the Commonwealth Institute of Advanced & Professional Studies at its 2025 lecture titled, ” Creating a culture of Excellence” on Thursday 4th December 2025 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, NIIA, Victoria Island Lagos before creme de la creme of the society.

Dangote was honoured for building the biggest refinery in the world.

The managing director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, was honoured for her enviable role in the aviation intercontinental body.

Chief Tajudeen Akande was honoured by CIAPS for his achievements as a financial guru.

Other recipients include the Director General of the NIIA, Prof Eghosa Osaghae, and Nafisah Abdulahi, a youngster who placed Nigeria on a world map because of her academic prowess.

Nafisah Abdulahi is a Nigerian teenager who won first place globally in the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals English competition, beating over 20,000 participants.

A 17-year-old from Yobe State, her victory earned her the title of World’s Best in English and has been widely recognized, with the Federal Government awarding her a cash prize.Some students were also given certificate of merit for distinguished themselves at the CIAPS programmes.

The Director of Studies at CIAPS, Prof Anthony Kila, who spoke extempore on the ‘Creating a culture of Excellence’ listed the drivers of the subject matter, which include , Vision,Vessels , Virtues and Vigor.

Breaking down the drivers, Prof Kila said Creating a culture of Excellence has become more of a daunting task because of the lackadaisical attitude of some people to issues that require prompt attention.

According to him, people hardly strive, for excellence, adding that it is very rare to see people wanting to be the first to arrive at a function intentionally.

To Prof Kila, the vision must have the right vessels ( workforce) and the vigor with the right virtues to achieve the culture of Excellence.

The highlight of the lecture was the presentation of plagues and certificates to the awardees.

Dignitaries at the programme include Alara of Ilara, Epe HRM,Oba Dr Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Senator Engr Kila, Mrs Ransome-Kuti, Veteran journalist and former managing director of Daily Times, Akogun Tola Adeniyi , 2019 PPC Presidential candidate, Victor Okhai, Veteran Broadcaster cum nollyword actor, Patrick Doyle amongst others.
