Ugborodo FIFA Project Controversy: Amaju Pinnick In Court On Alleged Contempt In N10 Billion Fundamental Right Suit

Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin Pinnick on Monday, December 8, 2025 appeared before Hon. Justice A. Lewis-Allagoa of the Federal High Court on alleged Contempt of court for committal.

Lawyer to Amaju Pinnick argued that his client was not served with form 48 and 49. Hon. Justice A. Lewis-Allagoa, adjucating in the suit filed FHC/LS1916, had earlier ruled and given a judgment order that Police must ensure that hitherto frozen accounts of Egbe by concerned banks should be reversed with immediate effect.
Counsel for the applicant, Chief (Barrister )Rumson Victor Baribote had prayed that the substantive suit on the violation of fundamental human rights be taken as they have the full facts to prove the fundamental violations.
The case has been adjourned till January 23rd , 2026, for hearing as Chief (Barrister) Rumson Victor Baribote established that there is a case to answer in the case on violations of fundamental human rights.
