Forget About Politicians’ Gambit, Lagos Is Not More Than 12 Million, Dangote’s Associate, Dan Kunle Stirs Controversy

Mr Dan Kunle, an oil expert and an associate of the richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote,has stirred another controversy on the population density of Nigeria.

Speaking on the Arise News current affairs programme, Morning Show, monitored in Lagos on Sunday, he said Lagos State cannot be more than 12 million people as against the 20 million being bandied over time.

According to him, most of the politicians in Nigeria are not versed enough and prepared for governance and that explains why the country is not running properly.

Dan Kunle,also urged prominent businessmen such as Femi Otedola and Chief Mike Adenuga in addition to what they are doing in their own foundations support Aliko Dangote Foundation on his educational scholarship announced recently.

Clarifying the difference between the Federal Government Students’ Loan ,NELFUND, Dan Kunle said Dangotes’ education support is not loan to students but scholarships for the brightest ones.

On Nigeria’s population, Dan Kunle said Nigeria is not more than 180 million, adding that Kano state should be about 10 million people.

” For instance, I was part of the fourth Republic when it started. The voters register in Kogi, my home state runs in millions but we have never recorded more than 600,000 votes at any election. So who is deceiving who?” He asked.

Speaking on the reduction in pump price of Petroleum by the Dangote refinery, Dan Kunle says the richest black man should be celebrated and not vilified.

” Nigeria is full of great minds. It’s time we stop politicising everything. Let’s give Alhaji Dangote his flowers. He deserves our commendation for what he’s done and what he will continue to do,” he added.
