MFM Akute Mega Region Begins New Year With Marathon Prayers As Olukoya Declares 2026 Year Of Great Deliverance, Fresh Glory 

By BENJAMIN OMOIKEThe Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM), Mega Region SW 229, Akute, Ogun State, has commenced the year 2026 with a 21-day marathon breakthrough prayer programme, reinforcing its emphasis on spiritual preparedness and sustained prayer as the foundation for success in the new year.

The programme, themed “Anointing for Excellence” (Psalm 92:10), runs from January 12 to February 1, 2026, and holds daily from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the church auditorium located at 5/7 Pipeline Road, Asore-Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to the church, the prayer programme features key spiritual emphases, including the Covenant of 1989, Holy Flame, Breakthrough, Healing, Salvation, Deliverance, Restoration, and Testimonies. Various anointed ministers are expected to minister throughout the duration of the programme.

Speaking while announcing the programme, the Mega Regional Overseer, Pastor (Dr.) Ayo Smith, stressed the importance of beginning the year on a prayerful note.

He described prayer as the master key that unlocks doors shut by the enemy and said its significance in the life of believers cannot be overstated.

Pastor Smith encouraged members to fully participate in the programme and to invite at least one person daily, urging them not to miss any session.

He noted that consistent and fervent prayers have, over time, produced remarkable miracles and testimonies among members of the church.

The church equally announced that the weekly deliverance programme, which holds in the church auditorium, had commenced in earnest, with the first edition, holding from Monday, January 12, through Wednesday, January 14.

The 21-day prayer initiative follows a series of end-of-year spiritual and humanitarian activities held by the Mega Region in December 2025. These included a thanksgiving service marked by high praise and worship, during which members expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout the year.

This was followed by the church’s “Jesus Palliative Sunday,” during which the Mega Regional Overseer and his wife, Pastor (Dr.) Adebimpe Smith, in partnership with well-meaning members, distributed food items to congregants. The gesture ensured that every worshipper present in the packed auditorium benefitted from the outreach.

The year’s activities culminated in the live broadcast of the Annual Crossover Service from the Mountain of Fire Prayer City, Km 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ibafo, Ogun State. The service drew large numbers of worshippers, both members and non-members, who gathered to pray, worship, and usher in the new year in God’s presence.

Despite the socio-economic challenges faced in the country, the church described the conclusion of 2025 as glorious, marked by thanksgiving, celebration, and renewed hope among believers.

Meanwhile, the General Overseer of MFM Worldwide, Dr. Daniel K. Olukoya, has declared the official prophetic theme for the ministry in 2026 as “Our Year of Great Deliverance and Fresh Glory.”

The declaration, made during the annual crossover service, highlights expectations of spiritual empowerment, divine restoration of lost opportunities, recompense for past struggles, and undeniable testimonies of God’s goodness.

Members have been encouraged to engage in intensive prayers and adhere to spiritual principles for survival, as the year has been prophetically described as potentially challenging for the prayerless.
