Qatar Aircraft In Emergency Landing In Lagos
An aircraft deployed by Qatar Airways for the operation of Lagos, Doha flight route engaged in emergency landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, after it developed technical fault mid air.

The pilot of flight with 247 passengers and 12 crew members on board, according to reliable sources, engaged on air return to the Lagos airport after declaring May Day about 40 minutes into the journey.
The captain however landed the aircraft safely while and had to engage, landed safely with passengers disembarked without any casualty recorded.
The passengers were later moved from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos to different hotels within Lagos metropolis with the expectation of rebooking them on another flight on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Meanwhile investigation into the cause of the emergency landing is expected to be ongoing by relevant authorities.
As at the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued either by the airline or appropriate agency in Nigeria.
